How much is a monthly pass if I’m a West Sacramento resident?

How do I get the resident rate?

Bring in proof of residency (i.e. a utility bill, phone bill, etc.) for the City of West Sacramento.

Do I need to be a resident of West Sacramento to participate at the Recreation Center?

No, anyone can participate as long as they have a pass. We offer Non-resident rates.

How can I get the student/senior (62+) rate?

Bring in proof of residency (i.e. a utility bill, phone bill, etc.) for the City of West Sacramento and a current student ID (student) or Drivers License (senior).

Why is it NA under the Student/Senior rates for Non-Residents?

The Student/Senior rates are only applicable for West Sacramento Residents. Simply look for the Individual pass price under the non-resident rate.

Do I save any money for buying a longer pass?

Yes, both residents and non-residents can save 5% for 3 month pass; 10% for 6 month pass and 15% for a 12 month pass.

What is a corporate pass?

A corporate pass is a resident individual pass for a non-resident that works in West Sacramento. The corporate pass is only applied to the individual pass, not a couple or family pass.

What do I need to purchase a corporate pass?

Bring in either a work ID or your most current pay stub verifying your employment in West Sacramento.

What do I need to set up an account?

All family members must be present when creating a new family account; each adult must complete and submit a liability waiver for themselves and any minors in their care. Each adult must provide Proof of Residency i.e. utility bill, phone bill, etc. and must provide a valid ID.

What do you consider a “Family”?

A family is considered 2 adults & their dependent children ages 21 & under living in the same household.

What do I need to set up a family account?

What do you consider a “Couple”?

A “couple” is any two individuals living in the same household.

What do I need to set up a couple account?

All members must be present when creating a couple account; Each adult must complete and submit a liability waiver for themselves and any minors in their care. Each adult must provide Proof of Residency i.e. utility bill, phone bill, etc. and must provide a valid ID.

Can I bring a guest if I’m a resident passholder; even if they are not West Sacramento residents?

Yes, as long as you are a passholder your guest can purchase a daily pass at the resident rate and sign the daily waiver.

Can I bring a minor guest under the age of 18?

If you bring a guest under the age of 18 that is not a pass holder or is a non-resident, the parent/legal guardian must either be present to sign the waiver or a waiver form must be brought in with the parent/legal guardians signature on the waiver form. print the waiver

Can I bring as many guests as I want?

Yes, as long as everyone pays for a day pass and sign the daily waiver, the number of guests is unlimited.

Can I print and fill out the waiver ahead of time?

Yes and we encourage this. Please print the waiver and make sure you complete all sections. Each individual 18 and older will need to complete their own waiver.

How old do children have to be to use the following:

  • Cardio Room - Ages 13 & up
  • Group Exercise Classes - Ages 13 & up (unless specified different on the group exercise schedule)
  • Use of facility without a parent present - Ages 8 & up (must have valid account & waiver on file)

Do you have any “free week” passes?

No, we do not offer any free week passes; we do offer daily passes.

How do I create an account?

You can go to our registration site and click “Login”, then click “I would like to create an account” or you can go to the Recreation Center or Community Center to have your account created for you.

Can I register for your programs online?

Yes and we recommend it, simply go to our website and create an account.

How do I get my password for my account if I forgot it?

You can go to our registration site and click “Forgot Password” or simply give us a call at 916-617-4770 and we can reset it for you.

Is childcare included in my pass fees?

No, childcare is a separate fee.

What are your childcare prices?

Please register your child for a timeslot online or at the front desk at least one day ahead of time to ensure a spot. Each slot is $3 per child. If you are unable to make the timeslot, please cancel the reservation 8 hours in advance. No credits or refunds will be given for unused timeslots. Parents must stay on site while using the child care services.

What is the Fitness Challenge?

The Fitness Challenge has been developed for people of all shapes, sizes and ages. If you think you have unhealthy habits, need help motivating into an a exercise routine, or are looking for a healthy way to lose weight and keep it off, sign up for the West Sacramento Recreation Center Fitness Challenge!

Can I rent out one of your Community Rooms?

The West Sacramento Recreation Center has an indoor party room for rent and party packages. All rentals need to be scheduled 30 days in advance and applications and appointments must be made with the Rental Coordinator.

Do you rent out your gym?

Currently we do not offer any rentals for our gym.

Can I rent the Rock Wall?

Yes! Simply submit a rental application, you can pick up an application at the Recreation Center or download one online.

Do we need Recreation Center passes for rentals?

All participants in all rentals are required to have some kind of Recreation Center Pass (either a day pass or otherwise).

Questions about your Rec Card?

  • Can you use your account online without having a Rec Card - Yes!
  • To get a Rec Card, do I need to go to the Recreation Center to have my picture taken and provide proof of residency (such as a utility bill) - Yes!
  • Can I load a pass on a Rec Card for access to the Recreation Center - Yes!
  • Once I have purchased a pass, will I need a Rec Card to enter the Recreation Center - Yes!
  • If my children want to use the Recreation Center, will they need a Rec Card - Yes!

If I lost my rec card, how much is a new one?

There is a $5 fee for a new rec card; although there is an app you can download for your smart phone. This way you wouldn't need a Rec Card. The app is called “Key Ring Rewards”.

What types of payments does the City of West Sacramento accept?

The city accepts Visa, Mastercard, and checks/money orders.

If I pay with a check or money order who do I make it out to?

Make your checks/money orders out to “City of West Sacramento” or “COWS”.

What is your Federal Tax ID#?

The City of West Sacramento Federal Tax ID#94-2362972.

How do I apply for a job with the city?

You may only apply for an open position, the city does not accept applications without an open recruitment. You may look at open positions online at NEOGOV. During an open recruitment you can either pick up a paper application at city hall or submit an online application through the NEOGOV website.

Is the pool heated?

Yes, the pool is heated during the cold months to approximately 80 degrees.

Do you offer swim lessons?

Since 2009, the City of West Sacramento Learn to Swim Program has served almost 20,000 participants. See the Aquatics page for details!

What is your Refund Policy?

If you wish to drop or transfer to another available program, contact us five (5) full business days before the program start date for a credit or refund. A refund will be given if the department cancels the program or for medical reasons that can be verified by your doctor. No refunds shall be issued for non-attendance, Recreation Center passes, or material fees. All requests received within five (5) business days must be approved or denied by the City of West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department. All refund checks will be processed through the Finance Department and mailed to you within 4-6 weeks. Parks & Recreation management can review refund requests on a case by case basis should special circumstances arise. Returned Check Fee Policy - The return check fee will be a flat $30 per check returned. A hold will be placed on the account and account holders will be unable to participate in programs until the returned check payment is made.
